Hi everyone,

I am running a SOF2 v1.00 server, actually rented from Teo at proclanservers.  I am wanting to make a mapcycle to where, for instance, if it is CTF and the match is almost over, say one team needs 2 points to win, an automatic vote comes up giving 2 or 3 maps that players can vote on for the next map.  Or, if it is dm and someone is say 10 points away from winning, the same options come up allowing players to vote between 2 or 3 maps for the next map.

I am running 2k3 v1.71 and I don't really want to have to use a mod that requires the clients to have that same mod.  I normally use this as a clan tournament server, so most players just have RPM 0.7, 2.0, etc..

Can anyone help me with this or recommend a mod that can do this without requiring the client to have the same mod?

Hello Kill,

i think you need the source code of the mod and programming languages knowledge, if you didn't edit the server mod by default your server is running with the .1fx 0.74 server side mod, i think the only way to get support on what you are looking for is askin' to BoeMan the one who created the Mod.
however, in order to interact with the Server Mod, let's assume the options you mentioned are active, all clients must have the Client specific mod because the game itself does not allow sending certain commands.

Alright, thanks Teo, I do have some programming experience, but haven't used any of it since I finished college some years ago.  So, you're saying, even if I were to find a way to do this, the clients/players would still have to have the same mod to be able to participate in the voting?

Agree with Teo, you probably need to modify the source code of RPM 1.71 ( if source code is released atleast ).
I dont think they need to have the same mod if you edit Server side only, atleast if you will only adjust voting part with F1 or F2 ( yes and no ) at the finall of a map.

But i think there is a way to do it by editing the mapcycle file, not sure tho, atleast i've seen it on gold but im not sure if its for all in the case im speaking of ' rocmod ' servers or just that one.

I was thinking about maybe just going Gold anyways.  So, RocMod allows for automatic voting at the end of a map?  And, does it allow for multiple maps to vote between or just two options(f1 for yes, and f2 for no)?

I was researching it a little and found goldrush mod, which you can make the mapcycle so it gives multiple maps to vote for at the end of each round, but it seems that most people use either OSP or RocMod, so if OSP or RocMod allows for auto-map voting, then I would rather stick with one of them.

And, one more thing, is there somewhere online that I can purchase a cd key for Gold version?

As i said not sure. Goldrush nor osp are used anymore, almost all servers use rocmod unfortunately.
You can download keygen from our download section.

Hello kill,

sorry for my late reply, yes even you find a way to edit the source you do need also to create a client side version which allows your players to do what you expect to add in your new server side.

Here at sof2.org you can find everything, there is the full gold game and the rocmod source code. Maybe ask to floo about editing the source Smile cheers

i dont think you need to compile the client side.
The Voting system is already into the client side and he's trying to add a voting system at the end of the map which is the server.
As long as the client side hasnt been edited and if you keep the basic votes ( F1 Yes or F2 no ), if you want more i think you need to add a client side with it because the client side only has the option of F1 and F2 as basic.
