Its best to give us your computer Specs, so we can check it now we need to ask questions to you.

I guess your GC DOES support openGL as most GC's do, as it says try to update your drivers.
I dont know what gc and drivers you have but thats probably the problem your occuring.

If this didnt work please give us more specific information, such as where did you download it from ( if not with original ), what are your PC specs ( this includes everything what we should know ).

and what do you mean by ' i made a new win7 ', you modified Win7, installed win7, you just restored your pc? ( This probably wont have anything to do with the error you got but just incase ).

Hey Police, problem is not Windows, this issue is generated by your graphic card. To play sof2 you need an openGL graphic card, which is yours? Download and run Speccy available here: http://filehippo.com/download_speccy and let me know the results.

You have ATI graphics, its a common problem known in SOF2.
Instead of upgrading your drivers, downgrade them, i had the same problem few years ago.
Its because sof2 is an old game and your Laptop is probably pretty new.

There are 2 things you can try:
1. Installing Older drivers.
2. If you still want to play newest game you should do Part.2. also.

installing Older Drivers:
1. Go to: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

2. Fill in the form, which looks the same as the image below.
( IF YOU DONT KNOW YOUR GRAPHIC CARD FOLLOW THE STEPS AT THE BOTTOM )

3. Ones entered the form hit ' Display Results '.

4. Hit 'Previous Drivers and Software'.

5. Search for an older Driver and download it.

6. Click on the .exe to install it, you'll probably get an message/pop-up you need to uninstall the current drivers first. Do this! Else it wont work or wont even install.

7. When uninstalling, Check ' Costum ' and go to 'next', click 'select all', be sure every tickbox is checked. After its uninstalled you'll need to restart your pc.

8. After you've restarted your pc go back to the .exe installer and install it by following the steps.

9. Restart your PC again and launch SOF2.
If the game Launched properly with no errors connected to the openGL or drivers you dont need to go further.

If the crash still occurs try to get even older version.

If you like to play newer games you should follow these steps:

As you have Windows 7 i'll make it easy for you.

1. Hit the Start / Orb button.
2. Search for the following 2 files:
- atioglxx.dll ( Mine was located in: C:\Windows\SysWOW64 )
- opengl32.dll ( Mine was located in: C:\Windows\System32 )

3. You'll probably get an small pop-up at the top of the window which has been opened saying something like ' to much to index '.
4. Right click on it and hit to index it all or search it all. ( This probably only will occur at searching for atioglxx.dll.

5. Open the folder where it's located and search the file  atioglxx.dll.
Keep the map opened.

6. Now hit the start / orb button again and search for opengl32.dll, this will probably be find within 2 seconds in the same window.
7. Right mouseclick on it and hit ' open filelocation ' or something like that.

8. Copy both these .dll files to an backup folder or somehwere you can easily find it.
9. Install the newest drivers again ( so do the same as in part.1. but with the newest drivers instead of older ).
10. Copy the .dll files you've copied earlier in step.8.
11. Go to your Sof2 folder ( Where you SOF2mp.exe and sof2.exe is located ).
12. Paste the 2 files into your sof2 folder which you opened in step.11.

Do the same with other older games you have issues with.
You can play SOF2 and newer games now.

If you dont know what your Graphic Card is:

1. open the Run box by pressing the Windows Logo + R ( Windows logo on your keyboard ) inbetween ctrl and Alt.
2. type ' dxdiag ', and hit OK. ( it may take a while to load especially if you have never used it before ).
3.  Hit the Display Tab ( Probably the second on of the left, between System & Sound.
4. You'll only need to ' Device ' part and you can fill in the form.

easiest route:

Put this file atioglxx.dll in the root sof2 folder where the sof2mp.exe is located, and it will work.
